Paris, New York, Tokyo – cities famed for their sartorial finesse and cultural beauty. But trendy sportswear brand Onitsuka Tiger is paying tribute to these iconic cities for another reason; for hosting world-famous national marathons.
ASICS‘ Onitsuka Tiger is celebrating the marathon cities with three special editions of their classic vintage style trainers; the Colorado 85, Mexico 66 and the California 78 Vintage. The colours of each shoe are inspired by the traditional marathon colours, and each shoe is embossed in gold with a number that means a lot to marathon enthusiasts – 42,195 is the length of the grueling race in kilometers. The Tokyo and New York City editions also feature a map printed on the sock liner, a playful touch that could potentially be pretty useful. Unless you think hobbling around New York whilst gazing intently into your trainer is a bit weird.
Our favourite design is the Colorado 85 which has a classic silhouette and a flashy retro look. In royal blue, white and a splash of bold orange laces, it’s a trainer that makes a statement, whether you’re a sports fanatic or not.
